You Need to Fight
By: Ethel Chadwick
When you read the title I bet you thought I meant “fight with another person.” Wrong! I mean fight for your faith, for love, for strength, for your very soul! If you don’t fight the negative thoughts, the depression, the anxiety, etc., then Satan wins. And we can’t let him win!
So how do we fight? We make ourselves recite scripture, even when we don’t feel like it. We listen to positive, encouraging music. We make ourselves get up, get dressed, walk around the block and maybe call a friend.
I know it isn’t easy. I don’t profess to understand chronic depression. What I do know is that God loves you very much and He doesn’t want you to suffer. If you need to ask for help, please do so. Let others minister to you. You will get better, slowly, if you really want to. Yes, you have to want to.
So please fight. It’s a matter of life and death!
This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live – Deuteronomy 30:19
